             The municipality of Dinalungan is situated at the northern part of Aurora Province, roughly 80 kms. from Baler, the capital town of the province. It lies between 16° 04’ 47” to 16° 17’ 04” north latitudes and 121° 44’ 21” to 121° 59’ 34” east longitudes. The area is bounded on the northwest by Quirino Province, on the southeast by Casiguran sound, and on the northeast and southwest by the municipalities of Casiguran and Dipaculao.

     HISTORY        

         Formerly a barrio of Casiguran, the municipality of Dinalungan was created in 1966. It is bounded on the north by the Dinalungan River,on the south by the Dinadiawan Creek,on the west by the provinces of Quezon and Nueva Vizcaya, and on the east by Casiguran Sound.
                  The municipality of Dinalungan is located between the mountains of Dipaculao and Casiguran. Trees abound in its mountain areas, where forests and falls dominate the landscape, and rare exotic birds, such as the endangered Philippine Eagle, soar over untrammeled coastline. Because of its variety of natural attractions, the area is ideal for nature trekking.
